My entire goal in life right now is to locate and consume a 20oz bottle of Mountain Dew. ugh.
One of my closest friends had a health scare last night and ended up in the ER, then to be admitted to the hospital overnight. Out of respect to privacy I don't feel a need to give a name or what happened. Friend is feeling much better this morning, and I thank God for that. Friend still has some tests and such, but I'm guessing that friend will be released from the hospital this afternoon sometime.
It's sobering how an incident like this can make all the other "big" problems going on seem so juvenile and petty. One thing was important last night: making sure that my friend was as safe as possible. One thing is important today: making sure my friend is as safe as possible. Everything else melts into the "whatever" category.
If you're reading this and you believe in prayer, please send a couple up for my friend. First thank God for everything getting better so far, and ask God for total healing so there aren't any further complications. Thanks
I love you, my friend.
My mom smiles with her eyes...
Here is a photo of my indoor soccer team, the JV Allstars. I'm in the back because I was pouting after just losing 2-9 in our first match.

"I thoroughly enjoy you, Ryan Gwillim."
I had a funny conversation with my friend Justin* via email today. Justin's* wife, Heather*, as a smidgin of Mexican blood hidden somewhere in her family line (ok she knows where it's at, but her physical appearance lends not even a little hint of it). Here's our little chat...
Justin*:...how about 6:30, and bring your appetite. Heather* said that she wants to make chicken tacos (well, burritos, but she's white, so she calls them tacos).
Me: I'm gonna tell her u called her white, don't u know that she is like 1/845th Mexican! How dare you insult the chola in her! I'll be there at 6:30.
Justin*: Well, she had Mexican in her. Unfortunately, when she was clipping her nails last week, she lost it. She thinks her last remaining bit of Mexican is somewhere under the couch, but I don't think she'll find it.

I just took two pills packaged in plastic and foil. I have a cold, and my congestion this morning is pretty bad so I found drugs for it, in someone's desk drawer...someone that doesn't work here anymore.
The little package says:
exp. MAR 2005
The thing about expiration dates is that I think you can generally extend them by two years or so when it comes to medications. I don't follow this same rule with dairy products, but for medication, I feel safe up to 24 months after the posted expiry date.
I'll keep you informed if I have to go to the ER or if I grow an extra eye or something in the next day or two!
In case anyone was wondering what the sky looks like outside my office today, here ya go, curiosity sufficed...
Thx to Forrest for letting me borrow his digicam.
Today is a special day for me and so my dad made me a this breakfast. In case you were wondering, that is 8 strips of bacon and 5 eggs over easy with orange juice. Happy heart-attacks for everyone!
P.S. Chris, yes that is "special" orange juice, at 8am.
